Philosophy, Style and Techniques

Over the years I have come to the belief that a clear and simple system of communication between horse and rider leads to trust and confidence. It is imperative that the basic training to establish good communication is done with excellence in order to provide a solid foundation. From this it is possible to develop a program of learning to develop the athletic ability of horse and rider whatever their goals.

I aim to treat every horse and rider as unique. Evaluating their individual physiological and psychological needs enables me to tailor tuition to suit, ensuring that progress is sustained and enjoyable for all.

I use a range of techniques from groundwork and ridden exercises are chosen to develop the horses ability to learn, then find confidence and balance, before progressing to physical development. For the Rider, identifying a preferred way of learning and incorporating exercises and simulations off the horse is as important as developing their ridden skills.
